To accommodate the rising demand for telephone numbers in the Bay Area, San Franciscans will now see phone numbers with a 628 area code.

House Democrats unanimously opposed one Republican amendment that would deport the DREAMers, our nation’s aspiring Americans who came to this country as children. In this extreme, anti-immigrant amendment, resources would be diverted away from deporting felons and threats to our national security, instead tearing apart millions of hard working families.

After more than 50 years, it is clear that the policy of isolating Cuba is serving neither the interests of the American people nor the democratic aspirations of the Cubans. We must acknowledge our policy towards Cuba is a relic of a bygone era that weakens our leadership in the Americas and has not advanced freedom and prosperity in Cuba.
