Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke on the House floor in support of the conference report of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which passed the House this evening by a vote of 237 to 192. The legislation now goes to the Senate, which is expected to approve it soon and send it to President Obama for his signature into law. Below are the Speaker’s remarks.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after Congressional Republicans blocked passage of H.R. 5618, the Restoration of Emergency Unemployment Compensation Act. This legislation would have extended unemployment benefits to millions of American families and workers:
