Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke on the House floor tonight on H.R. 4853, the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. The bill, which the House passed by a vote of 277 to 148 late Thursday night, was passed by the Senate on Wednesday and now goes to President Obama for his signature into law. Washington, D.C. – Speaker Pelosi issued the following statement about the Department of Transportation awarding $6 million to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni) for the Central Subway/Third Street Light Rail project. Speaker Pelosi obtained the funds as part of the fiscal year 2010 appropriations process.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today after the House passed the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Improvements Act to strengthen the New GI Bill for the 21st Century. This package makes it easier for veterans to take advantage of New GI Bill benefits, helps veterans successfully enter the civilian workforce, and extends educational benefits to members of the National Guard and veterans who use distance education.
