Washington, D.C. - Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement tonight after D.C. District Judge Gladys Kessler joined two other district courts declaring the Affordable Care Act constitutional:

"While Republicans continue to ignore jobs and push their 'So Be It' agenda to take away patients' rights, a third judge has ruled that the law protecting those rights is Constitutional. In addition, numerous other courts have already dismissed challenges to the law.

"Democrats will continue to protect the interests of the American people and fight efforts by Republicans to put insurance companies back in charge where children with pre-existing conditions would once again be denied coverage; pregnant women and breast and prostate cancer patients could once again be thrown off the insurance rolls; and many seniors would have to pay more for prescription drugs."
