Pelosi, Congressional Delegation Visit Florence American Cemetery for WWII Soldiers

Florence, Italy â€" Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a Congressional delegation today paid their respects to the more than 4,400 American World War II soldiers buried at the Florence American Cemetery on the outskirts of Florence. Speaker Pelosi and members of the Congressional Delegation laid a wreath in remembrance of the fallen soldiers, with an inscription that read: "From the people of the United States."

Washington, D.C. â€" Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke on the House floor this afternoon in strong support of the joint House-Senate conference report on HR 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The House approved the measure this afternoon by a vote of 246 to 183. The Senate is expected to pass the legislation later today and President Obama will sign it into law next week.
