San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after dozens were killed in an apparent terror attack at a nightclub in Istanbul:
"The New Year's terror attack in Istanbul last night saddens all of us. The cruelty of this attack is surely magnified by targeting a day dedicated to the hope of a new year. Americans stand in solidarity with the victims and all those families mourning loved ones today.
With 2016 coming to a close, I write to wish you a safe, happy and healthy New Year. As we head into the New Year, I will continue to bring the strength of our values to Congress and will oppose any attempts to persecute Americans because of who they are, how they worship or who they love.
