Saying Goodbye to E-Cigs
Today, the Democratic House took urgently needed action to confront the growing youth tobacco crisis – which is, in the words of the U.S. Surgeon General, an "epidemic." Currently, more than 5.3 million middle and high school students are using e-cigarettes: more than twice as many as two years ago. Nearly 1 million children are using e-cigarettes every single day!

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled to vacate the District Court ruling requiring former White House Counsel Don McGahn to comply with the House's subpoena to testify before Congress:

"Today's split Court of Appeals ruling in the McGahn case does not contradict what the Courts have continued to rule: that the President's claims of ‘absolute immunity' from Congress's subpoenas are false.

San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released this statement after the Supreme Court announced that next session, it will step in and hear Republicans' Texas v. U.S. lawsuit seeking to strike down protections for people with pre-existing conditions and the entirety of the Affordable Care Act. The Fifth Circuit had previously sent the case back to district court, which would have prolonged uncertainty over the law.
