Clark and the “We Ride 3,000” team are biking for 44 days across the nation to advocate for public education. The cyclists are expected to arrive in D.C. on July 17th.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Leaders, Committee Chairs, and Members of Congress delivered remarks this afternoon in the Capitol at an enrollment ceremony to sign the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and send it to President Obama for his signature. Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on a new report from the Economic Policy Institute documenting how unemployment benefits create jobs and strengthen the economy. According to the EPI’s analysis, unemployment benefits were responsible for creating 1.1 million jobs since the recession started, increasing the number of hours worked by those who already have jobs, and adding 1.7 percent to the gross domestic product:

The legislation, which was sponsored in the House by Congressman Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania, passed by a voted of 414 to 0 and now heads to President Obama for his signature.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after the Administration issued regulations implementing provisions of the Affordable Care Act that provide for free preventive care benefits in new plans. Specifically, the regulations will help make prevention affordable and accessible by requiring new health plans to cover recommended preventive services without charging a deductible, copayment or coinsurance.
