Vicenza, Italy – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who is leading a bipartisan delegation to Afghanistan and Italy, received a briefing today with Members of Congress from the U.S. Army Africa based at the U.S. Army Garrison, Vicenza.
The briefing was conducted by Colonel Marcus De Oliveira, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army Africa. This U.S. command overseas U.S. operations in 53 countries. The Members also received an update on aspects of the Libyan operations.
Rome – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who is leading a bipartisan delegation to Italy and Afghanistan, today met with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano. Joining Pelosi at the meeting were Congressman John Mica (R-FL), Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Congressman Leonard Boswell (D-IA), Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) and U.S. Ambassador to Italy David Thorne.
Rome – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi led a bipartisan Congressional Delegation to Afghanistan. The delegation returned to Rome early in the morning Italy time after spending two days in Afghanistan.

Kabul, Afghanistan – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and a bipartisan Congressional Delegation arrived in Afghanistan today, where they are visiting with U.S. troops and receiving briefings from U.S. Ambassador Karl Eikenberry, and other senior military and civilian officials.
The delegation also met with President Hamid Karzai to discuss the political and security situation in Afghanistan, including the transition of responsibility for security to the Afghans.
