Coleville-sur-Mer, Normandy – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement marking the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon and Pelosi are leading a bipartisan Congressional Delegation to mark the anniversary and today attended a binational ceremony at the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach attended by D-Day veterans and their families at which President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande spoke.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee passed an agriculture spending bill that would allow schools to opt out of nutrition standards requiring that students receive healthy meals. The legislation also makes white potatoes eligible for purchase under the Women Infants and Children (WIC) initiative, despite their weak nutritional value.
