Our nation makes a solemn promise to every man and woman who puts on the uniform to fight in our name: that just as the military leaves no one behind on the battlefield, we must leave no veteran behind when they come home.
In the past five years, two million new veterans have come home, bearing the seen and unseen scars of war after more than a decade of conflict. We must remember that endless war abroad has costs here at home that we must address.
