San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi today announced that the Department of Transportation has allocated $250 million in fiscal year 2020 Capital Investment Grant funds to the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit's (BART) Core Capacity project. BART currently has the capacity to operate a maximum of 24 trains per hour in each direction through the existing Transbay Tube between San Francisco and Oakland.
