Pelosi Statement on Reports that FBI and DNI Confirm CIA's Assessment of Russian Interference

San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the CIA reportedly confirmed, according to the Washington Post, that the FBI and Director of National Intelligence back the CIA's assessment of Russian interference in our elections and our democracy:

"A foreign regime has attacked the sanctity of American democracy itself, and we cannot pretend otherwise.

"The message reportedly sent by CIA chief Brennan to his staff, as reported by the Washington Post, further supports the urgent need for an independent, bipartisan investigation. The American people deserve to know the truth of Russia's brazen interference with our elections."
