Restoring Net Neutrality
Save The Internet Act
This week, it was an honor to join my colleagues on behalf of Americans across the country to pass the Save the Internet Act to restore net neutrality protections and make the Internet better, cheaper and faster for consumers, entrepreneurs and small businesses. With this strong, bicameral and overwhelmingly popular legislation, we are taking bold action to create good-paying jobs and ensure that American dynamism and entrepreneurialism can continue to be the envy of the world.
With the "Save the Internet Act," Democrats are honoring the will of the people and restoring protections, by:
Strengthening transparency protections: enacting specific rules against blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization, and empowering the FCC to investigate consumer and business complaints and fine internet service providers for violations of the Communications Act;
Protecting consumers against unjust, unreasonable, and discriminatory practices by large internet service providers, and promoting competition by empowering small business;
Ensuring consumers can make informed decisions when shopping for internet plans; and
Restoring the FCC's authority to fund broadband access for rural communities, working Americans, veterans, seniors, students and disabled Americans so the Internet can continue to be a level playing field where all can succeed.

100 Days in the Majority
100 days into our transformative new House Majority, we have made extraordinary progress to deliver For The People: lower health care costs and the price of prescription drugs, increase paychecks by rebuilding America with green and modern infrastructure and clean up corruption in Washington.
We have proudly passed our historic H.R. 1 legislation to clean up corruption and restore ethics to Washington, passed strong and bipartisan background checks legislation to help end the gun violence epidemic, and passed landmark paycheck fairness legislation to secure equal pay for equal work. At the same time, we are moving forward with great unity and strength to bring bold legislation to the Floor, including the Equality Act to end discrimination against LGBTQ Americans, the Dream and Promise Act to protect America's courageous and patriotic Dreamers and our TPS holders who have lived here for decades, the Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore the sacred right to be heard at the ballot box, and the Climate Action Now Act to demand real action to end the climate crisis all while advancing new legislation to lower health care costs and prescription drug prices and rebuild America's crumbling infrastructure.
House Democrats will continue to advance legislation that honors our promise For The People and we are wasting no time to deliver results in the lives of Americans across the country.
My office worked with a constituent in expediting his disability benefits, including back pay owed to him for numerous years, totaling $160,000. Living with a financial hardship, it was critical our constituent received his benefits and back pay in a timely manner. |
