Washington, D.C. -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi introduced the Golden Gate National Parks and Technical Corrections bill today. The legislation will rename and redesignate the Golden Gate National Recreation Area as the Golden Gate National Parks. The legislation will also make technical corrections to other park units contained within the Golden Gate National Parks.

Washington, D.C. -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after the House voted 317 to 109 to override the President's veto of the Food and Energy Security Act or the Farm Bill. The bipartisan legislation is supported by more than 1,000 organizations representing farmers, conservationists, and those supporting energy alternatives and nutrition assistance for families and children.

The Emergency Extended Unemployment Compensation Act passed by a 2/3 majority, a margin large enough to override a threatened veto by President Bush.
