Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the workers lost in the tragic oil rig explosion Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico. Yesterday, the Coast Guard called off the search for the 11 missing workers.

"The thoughts and prayers of Congress are with the families and loved ones of those lost on the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Their labors strengthen our nation; their loss is a source of grief to the American family.
