Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke on the House floor this afternoon in support of H.R. 847, the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, which provides long-term, comprehensive health care and compensation for thousands of first responders and others exposed to the toxins of Ground Zero following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer announced today that they will bring The James Zadroga 9-11 Health and Compensation Act to the floor for a vote next week. This bill provides funding for a health initiative to monitor and treat responders and community residents for health conditions related to the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks and compensation for those physically injured by those attacks or by response activities and debris removal.
