Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the announcement that a statue of Frederick Douglass will be unveiled at a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, June 19th, in Emancipation Hall of the United States Capitol Visitor Center. The statue is a gift from the District of Columbia to represent the more than 600,000 residents of the nation's capital.
