Washington D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Members of the House Democratic Leadership held a press availability following Secretary Clinton’s visit to the Capitol. Below are the Leader’s remarks:
“Thank you very much, Xavier. Thank you for the auspices under which we had the privilege of hearing from the next President of the United States.
“As you and I both said in there: when Hillary Clinton enters the Oval Office, she will do so as one of the best prepared people in history, by dent of her experience, her knowledge, her judgment, her strategic thinking, her communication with the American people. She will do so with her full commitment to values for America’s working families, uniting our country. She’s always been about children. We’re so happy to be with her, celebrating the birth of her new grandchild, Aidan, to join Charlotte. And that has been her focus.
“At the same time, she has established a strong record on national security, on economic security for our country. This was a tort of force that she presented to us there in terms of visions and values and listening to ideas and accommodating them – really a tribute to her intellect, but also to her stamina. So it was an honor for us all to be with her, our Caucus was thrilled as you can see they won’t let her go.
“With that, I’m pleased to yield to our Democratic Whip – I just keep thinking ‘Majority’ but…”
Whip Hoyer. We’ll get there. Next year, next year.
