Advancing Our Vision to Build Back Better
Keeping Promises to the American People
Congressional Democrats are continuing our action to advance President Biden's vision to Build Back Better and will soon pass our transformative Build Back Better Act, which will:

- Create more good-paying jobs for hard-working Americans by establishing workforce development and job training initiatives, investing in America's clean energy future and empowering American companies to lead the world in the industries of tomorrow. This legislation takes big, bold climate action, putting our nation on a path to cut carbon pollution in half by 2030 and boosting incentives to manufacture and buy electric vehicles and other technologies of the future right here in the U.S.
- Cut taxes for working families by extending the expanded Biden Child Tax Credit, the expanded Earned Income Tax Credit and the expanded Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit to put even more of Americans' own hard-earned money back in their pockets.
- Lower costs for all families with popular initiatives such as free universal pre-K, affordable child care, paid family and medical leave, two years of tuition-free community college, expanding Medicare to cover hearing, vision, and dental coverage, and many more initiatives. Our child care and other initiatives will help unlock the full power of women in the workforce, getting children learning and parents earning.
- Ensure the wealthiest few and biggest corporations pay their fair share by cracking down on individual and corporate federal income tax dodgers, while making sure no one making less than $400,000 a year pays a penny more in taxes.
House Democrats are hard at work on our successful negotiations with the White House and Senate to reach agreement on historic legislation that will meet the needs of the American people.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
This Wednesday, our nation marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month – a special opportunity to come together in celebration of our Latino communities, who have for generations blessed our nation with their remarkable talents, fierce patriotism and an entrepreneurial spirit. We also reflect on the unique challenges that our Latino communities face, from the unjust impacts of the pandemic to decades of underinvestment to a broken immigration system.
In that spirit, Democrats in Congress are hard at work advancing President Biden's historic Build Back Better vision, which will put equity front and center by delivering life-changing investments for underserved communities. And with the House-passed American Dream and Promise Act, Democrats are fighting to secure the permanent pathway to citizenship that Dreamers and TPS and DED recipients deserve.
Since our nation's founding, Latinos and Latinas have played an integral role in the American story, reminding us that our nation's greatest strength is our unity, forged by our diversity. Indeed, our country's foundational spirit of E Pluribus Unum – from many, one – continues to inspire Democrats as we strive to build a stronger, fairer future for all our children and for decades to come.
