Pelosi Statement on Second Anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

November 15, 2023

San Francisco – Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the two-year anniversary of President Biden signing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act:

“On this day in 2021, President Joe Biden signed our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, seizing a once-in-a-century chance to rebuild our nation while rebuilding our middle class.  Shovels are in the ground and work is in progress across America, with nearly $400 billion in funding headed to more than 40,000 projects in 4,500 communities, including our own in San Francisco.

“Already, America’s families are seeing and feeling the impact of our sweeping investments: rebuilding roads and bridges, reimagining public transit, delivering cleaner drinking water, cleaning up legacy pollution, expanding internet access and more.  With these projects, we are easing commutes, improving public health and reconnecting communities with a commitment to equity and justice – while further powering Democrats’ record-setting jobs creation.

“The Infrastructure Law is a shining example of the visionary, unifying leadership of President Biden and Democrats in Congress.  As we joyfully celebrate the anniversary of this historic achievement, we remain relentlessly committed to investing in America, building a fairer economy and delivering For The People.”
