Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled that Deutsche Bank must comply with Congress's subpoenas for President Trump's financial records:

"Today's ruling is another victory for the rule of law, our Constitution and our American Democracy. Yet again, the Courts have reaffirmed the Congress's constitutional authority to conduct oversight on behalf of the American people.

"As the Court ruled, ‘The public interest in vindicating the Committees' constitutional authority is clear and substantial… the Committees' interests in pursuing their constitutional legislative function is a far more significant public interest than whatever public interest inheres in avoiding the risk of a Chief Executive's distraction arising from disclosure of document reflecting his private financial transactions.'

"The Congress will continue to conduct oversight and defend our democracy For The People."
