Pelosi Statement on Trump’s New ‘Dirty Power Scam’

San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the Trump Administration announced its plan to reverse the Obama Administration's Clean Power Plan that limited the levels of pollution from electricity generation:

"The Trump Administration's disdain for the clean air our children breathe and the clean water they drink knows no bounds. This rule is a brazen special interest handout that poisons families' health today, and threatens their security and well-being for decades to come by accelerating the climate crisis.

"Time after time, the Trump Administration has sold out our children's health to enrich special interests and big polluters pushing their toxic agenda. From pulling out of the Paris Agreement, spearheading reckless executive orders to undermine clean air and clean water, to giving polluters the green light to contaminate our communities, the Administration is devastating Americans' health every chance it gets.
