Pelosi Statement on the San Francisco Giants' World Series Win

Washington, D.C. -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement tonight after the San Francisco Giants won the World Series tonight for the first time in 56 years, including the entire 52 years that the club has been in San Francisco:
“After 56 years, the wait is finally over. All San Franciscans are so proud of the World Series champion San Francisco Giants!
“It was a phenomenal team effort, filled with fantastic pitching, clutch hitting, and great fielding. Congratulations to Manager Bruce Bochy and the entire team -- they surprised the skeptics with a great World Series victory. Victory is in the air.
“As the winner of friendly wagers with Senator Specter and Congressman Barton, I look forward to enjoying Pennsylvania’s finest Hershey chocolate and delicious pecan pie from Texas.
