Pelosi Statement on the CBO's Updated Budget and Economic Outlook

San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the Congressional Budget Office’s updated Budget and Economic Outlook, released earlier today:

“The most effective way to reduce our deficit is to put Americans back to work and grow our economy, and today’s CBO report makes it clear that Congress must take action now to meet Americans’ top priority – jobs. With the Joint Select Committee set to begin its work, it must address job creation while tackling our long-term debt.

“Congress should not wait for the committee to act. We must pass and send to the President the long-delayed highway and FAA bills, which generate hundreds of thousands of American jobs. And we should also approve a national Infrastructure Bank to create jobs by rebuilding America.”
