Pelosi Statement on Senate Vote to Table House GOP Debt Bill

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the Senate voted to table the Republican debt bill, which narrowly passed the House earlier today:

“The American people have been clear; they overwhelmingly support an agreement that is balanced and bipartisan, and they want us to end the delay and uncertainty so that we can get back to addressing their top priority: creating jobs and growing the economy.

“Republicans must return to the table so that we can avoid default and make sure that we honor our commitments to our seniors, veterans and the American economy.”
