Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after Senate Republicans voted to block Senator Debbie Stabenow’s (D-MI) “Bring Jobs Home Act” in the U.S. Senate:

“Once again today, Republican Senators voted to protect companies that ship American jobs overseas. Senator Debbie Stabenow’s Bring Jobs Home Act is simple: it ends tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas and cuts taxes for businesses to bring jobs back to America. Yet Republicans wouldn’t even allow it to come to the floor for an up-or-down vote.

“In the House, Republicans have also rejected a House Democratic version of this legislation, voting for the 13th time to protect the interests of corporations that send jobs abroad.

“Republicans must choose: will they work with Democrats to keep jobs on our shores, or will they continue their record of protecting the interests of corporations that send jobs abroad?”
