Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after the Republican “So Be It” spending bill was defeated in the Senate:
“It is clear that the House Republicans ‘So Be It’ spending bill was rejected by the Senate because it will destroy 700,000 jobs, undermine our economic recovery and hurt our competitiveness in the future through massive cuts in education. The time is now for Republicans to work with Democrats to find common ground in creating jobs, strengthening the middle class and responsibly reducing the deficit.”
