Pelosi Statement on Retirement of House Parliamentarian John Sullivan

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after John Sullivan, Parliamentarian of the House of Representatives, announced his retirement. Tom Wickham will serve as the new House Parliamentarian.

“John Sullivan has served the House of Representatives with distinction for 25 years. He has used his keen mind, excellent legal training, and commitment to public service to make nonpartisan, objective decisions; always, he has kept our Constitution first in mind. The American people have benefitted from his great service.

“Tom Wickham will continue in the fine tradition of John Sullivan. He’s an experienced parliamentarian who loves the institution that is the House. I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
