"Congresswoman Lois Capps has long been a fierce advocate for hard-working American families, our children, and our environment. Throughout her service in the Congress, she translated the knowledge, compassion, and energetic leadership gained from decades of service as a nurse, health advocate, and educator into policies that transformed the lives of people in California and across the country.

"Congresswoman Capps is a steadfast champion for protecting public lands, providing affordable education to all children, and fighting for the resources families need to live healthier lives. Her kindness and courage, leadership and wisdom have been tremendous assets to our Caucus and the Congress. Congresswoman Capps will be missed by colleagues, and friends, on both sides of the aisle."
