Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after House Republicans blocked consideration of a bipartisan, fully-paid-for, permanent Medicare "doc fix" for the second time in two days:

"Once again, Republicans have prioritized their own toxic partisanship over the health and security of America's seniors. By blocking consideration of the bipartisan, fully paid-for permanent Medicare ‘doc fix,' Republicans are endangering our seniors' ability to see their doctors and get the health care they need.

"Republicans' approach has been rejected by providers, insurers, and seniors. Yet they persist with their reckless and destructive partisan antics, even as time quickly runs out to address the Sustainable Growth Rate formula before the end of the month.

"Clearly, Republicans' obsession with tearing down the Affordable Care Act and the quality affordable coverage it is providing millions of Americans knows no boundaries. Republicans should stop threatening the health of our nation's seniors, and work with Democrats to pass the bipartisan, bicameral permanent Medicare ‘doc fix.'"
