Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today released this statement after House Republicans voted for the fourth time in recent months to block Democrats' motion to consider legislation to re-authorize the Export-Import Bank's charter, which will expire on June 30.

"Today, the Republican Congress had a yet another opportunity to stand with American workers and American manufacturers. Instead, they continued to vote to let the Export-Import Bank's charter expire, and deal a heavy and completely unwarranted blow to hard-working Americans trying to sell their goods overseas.

"The Export-Import Bank has created or sustained hundreds of thousands of American jobs at no cost to taxpayers. There is no reason we should be here, planning to recess for the month without saving this vital engine for American jobs and American success in the global economy.

"It's long past time for irresponsible Republicans in Washington to end their obstruction, dysfunction and distraction and put American jobs first by joining Democrats in building a better future for all Americans."
