Pelosi Statement on Rebuild America Jobs Act

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on “The Rebuild America Jobs Act,” which was introduced in the Senate this week:

“Overwhelming majorities of Americans agree – putting construction workers back on the job to rebuild our roads, bridges, railway, airports, and energy and water infrastructure is a priority that will strengthen our nation’s economy and our middle class.

“Senate Democrats have put forward the Rebuild America Jobs Act; it contains essential elements of President Obama’s American jobs Act, incorporates bipartisan ideas, and does not add a dime to the deficit.

“Senate and House Republicans must not continue to be the roadblock to job creation and economic growth because Americans can’t wait. The time to act is now.”
