Pelosi Statement on President Obama's Framework for Business Tax Reform

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after President Obama released his framework for business tax reform:

“President Obama’s proposal presents a clear opportunity to work in a bipartisan manner to lower tax rates on American businesses and corporations while closing loopholes for Big Oil and companies that ship jobs overseas.

“This initiative is paid-for and does not add a dime to the deficit, and it focuses on our core priorities: creating jobs at home, expanding our manufacturing base, and strengthening small businesses – reflecting and echoing the central goals of Democrats’ Make It In America agenda.

“Democrats look forward to working with the President and our Republican colleagues to reform our tax code to achieve fairness and simplification, and to reduce the deficit. Through this effort we can build ladders of opportunity for all, bolster our middle class, and reignite the American dream.”
