Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the one year anniversary of the House GOP vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act:
“One year ago, Republicans voted to take away patients’ rights and put insurance companies back in charge of the health of the American people by repealing the Affordable Care Act. Had Republicans had their way a year ago, today millions of young adults would not have health insurance, seniors would have paid more for their prescription drugs, children with pre-existing conditions could be denied coverage, those who become sick could lose their benefits, and Americans could still be subject to lifetime limits on care.
“As the law continues to be implemented, Democrats will always protect health care reform and its benefits for the American people.”
