Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the National Labor Relations Board’s proposed rule change to regulations governing labor union representation:

“Today, the NLRB proposed commonsense reforms that are a step toward ensuring fairness for workers as they exercise their fundamental right to decide whether to join a union. The current process has stacked the deck against workers; today’s proposal brings transparency and fairness for both workers and their employers.

“Around the world, the United States advocates to help ensure that working people have a voice in determining their future; this will help guarantee the same opportunities for workers here at home.

“Today’s announcement represents solid progress forward.”
