Pelosi Statement on New Republican ACA Repeal Plan

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after conservative groups unveiled their latest plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act, eliminating essential health benefits, minimum loss ratio requirements, and single risk pools, while allowing for an unlimited age tax to be imposed on older Americans:
"Americans' health care will never be safe so long as the GOP has unchecked control of Washington. Republicans will not stop trying to impose an age tax on older Americans' health care, or stop attacking people with pre-existing conditions, or stop trying to obliterate Medicaid and Medicare.
"House Republicans have already voted for many of the cruelest provisions in this latest Trumpcare proposal. The Republican agenda is to inflict higher costs on sick Americans just to hand tax breaks to big corporations and billionaires. Democrats will keep working to update and improve the health law, lower families' health costs, and fight to give the American people a Better Deal on the price of prescription drugs."
