Contact: Speaker’s Press Office,
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released this statement after the Joint Committee on Taxation found that the drug price negotiations in H.R. 3, The Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act, will increase wages and salaries for Americans with employer-provided health insurance by $116 billion:
“Lower drug prices and bigger paychecks are two things Americans urgently need, and the transformational Lower Drug Costs Now Act passed by the House delivers both.
“With real negotiations to end Big Pharma’s out-of-control prices, we lower costs at the pharmacy counter and put more money back in the pockets of hard-working families.
“The GOP Senate must vote on H.R. 3 to give lower drug costs and bigger paychecks to the American people.”
