Pelosi Statement on May Jobs Report

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after the Department of Labor announced that the economy added a total of 138,000 jobs in May:

"May's jobs report is a sobering wake-up call for President Trump and House Republicans, who continue to push a disastrous agenda that targets hard-working American families and endangers economic growth.

"Instead of creating good-paying jobs and raising wages, Republicans are focused on raising health costs for seniors, rural communities and hard-working families across the nation through their cruel Trumpcare plan. President Trump's short-sighted and dangerous budget proposal deals yet another devastating blow to American families, by stealing from our investments in jobs, education and health care to give tax breaks to millionaires. Together, Trumpcare and the Trump budget will destroy millions of jobs.

"More than 150 days into the Trump Administration, we have yet to see a single job-creating bill. Democrats will continue to fight to create good paying jobs, grow our economy and increase the paychecks of America's working families."
