Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement following passage of nine bills that deliver progress for America's veterans, including the Protect the GI Bill Act; Reducing High Risk to Veterans and Veterans Services Act; VA Tele-Hearing Modernization Act; VA Overpayment Accountability Act; Protecting Families of Fallen Servicemembers Act; GI Bill Planning Act; VA Design-Build Construction Enhancement Act; Fallen Warrior Battlefield Cross Memorial Act and the Deborah Sampson Act:

"A day after our nation observed Veterans Day, our Democratic House once again honored the sacrifice and heroism of our veterans and their families by passing nine vital, bipartisan bills that strengthen VA and ensure our servicemembers receive the care and benefits they have earned. The House has now sent the GOP Senate the strongest action in over a decade to address inequities and barriers to resources, benefits and services for women veterans.

"As the Democratic House works to defend our democracy, we will continue to be relentless in our work to honor the service of those who have sacrificed for our freedom. This year alone, House Democrats have held 32 hearings and passed 34 bills to help our veterans, and we will keep up the momentum, solemnly promising to leave no veteran behind at home, just as the military pledges to leave no one behind on the battlefield. Our work for our veterans, their families and caregivers must be bipartisan and of the highest priority."
