Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after the House voted 313-118 to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, which expired in June:

"After months of Republicans' refusal to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, the House has come together to deliver a bipartisan victory for hard-working American workers and exporters across the country.

"For more than eight decades, the Export-Import Bank has helped to level the playing field for American workers and American businesses, big and small, to compete and succeed in the global economy. It has created and supported hundreds of thousands of jobs over the years – all at no cost to taxpayers.

"Refusing to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank has put American workers and American products at a pointless and self-destructive disadvantage in foreign markets. The Senate should join the House and reauthorize the Export-Import Bank as soon as possible."
