Pelosi Statement on CBO Score of Latest Version of Senate Trumpcare Proposal

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office released its assessment of the latest version of Trumpcare announced by Senate Republicans today:

"Today's CBO score reiterates the devastation Republicans are trying to inflict on the good health of hard-working Americans just to give bigger tax breaks to billionaires.

"Just as expected, Republicans' fall-back plan for Trumpcare is to make it even more dangerous and extreme than before. This afternoon, the CBO confirmed that Republicans in the Senate and House are casually calling for exploding health costs, doubling Americans' premiums, and pushing a staggering 32 million people off their health coverage. Veterans, seniors and working families will suffer so Republicans can hand hundreds of billions of dollars to the wealthiest.

"Like some dreadful zombie, Republicans keep trying to raise Trumpcare from the dead and unleash it on the American people. In the name of the families across America who will suffer if this monstrosity becomes law, Democrats will not let up until Trumpcare is buried once and for all."
