Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released this statement following the introduction of a bipartisan resolution affirming America's commitment to NATO's Article Five:

"Keeping America safe – and defending the security of our friends and allies – transcends politics. This bipartisan resolution reaffirms America's commitment to the common defense pledge that underpins our global security and sends a strong signal of support to our NATO partners, many of whom face the threat of Russian aggression.

"Previous Administrations, both Democratic and Republican, have made it clear to our NATO allies that America stands by the longstanding security relationships that protect our nation. The Trump Administration must clearly and unequivocally reaffirm America's commitment to collective defensive. We hope that the House will swiftly vote to pass this important resolution."
