Jerusalem – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after a bilateral meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. "Today, when our Congressional delegation met with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in Jerusalem, we engaged in a wide-ranging discussion regarding how our nations can advance security cooperation, common economic interests and shared democratic values. "Our conversation focused on the dynamics of a new governing coalition in Israel, achieving enduring security and stability, the threat posed by a nuclear Iran, combatting the COVID-19 pandemic and the climate crisis. Our delegation conveyed Congress' continued support for a two-state solution that enhances the security of Israel and the stability of the region. "This meeting is a continuation of a day of dialogue with Israeli leaders: President Isaac Herzog, Speaker ‘Mickey' Levy, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
