San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today released this statement on the President's appointment of new members to the Presidio Trust, creating the first majority-women Board of Trustees of the private-public partnership that oversees the Presidio of San Francisco:

"For centuries, the Presidio of San Francisco has stood as the ‘Guardian of the Golden Gate' and we are proud of the new leaders who will continue to guide this important national treasure in the years to come. In preserving this critical landmark and guiding its transition from Post to Park, the Presidio Trust Board of Directors has been instrumental in sustaining the rich history of our city and our community. Today, President Obama appointed four talented, strong, and pioneering leaders to this critical institution.

"As members of the Presidio Trust Board of Directors, Lynne Benioff, Paula Robinson Collins, Nicola Miner, and Janet Reilly will provide the persistent, energetic, forward-looking leadership needed to support this innovative public-private partnership.
