Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after a new survey from Towers Watson and the National Business Group on Health found that with the Affordable Care Act taking effect, U.S. employers are experiencing the smallest increases in health care costs in 15 years:

"This study is just the latest evidence that the Affordable Care Act is delivering on the promise of quality, affordable coverage, and helping slow the growth of health care costs for everyone: businesses, consumers, and the government.

"Before the Affordable Care Act, employers often faced skyrocketing health costs – unsustainable burdens that held down wages and held back new investment and hiring. Today, employers and employees alike are enjoying new economic and health security, freeing businesses to seize more opportunities in the market and create more jobs.

"Millions of employers, entrepreneurs, workers, students, seniors, and families are seeing the Affordable Care Act make the dream of dependable, affordable health care a reality. Republicans should stop trying to dismantle this historic law, and work with Democrats to create jobs and strengthen American businesses."
