Pelosi Names House Democrats on Intelligence Committee

Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today named the Democratic members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, led by Congressman Adam Schiff of California as Ranking Member.
"Protecting and defending American families is the greatest responsibility of Congress," said Leader Pelosi. "In a time of heightened awareness of the seriousness of the work of the intelligence community in protecting our security and maintaining our values as a country, these Members will bring integrity, ability and leadership to the intelligence committee."
"Our Members offer both experience and fresh perspectives on the intelligence issues facing our country," continued Leader Pelosi. "House Democrats will continue to prioritize our national security and preserve our liberty."
The following Members were named to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence:
Congressman Luis Gutiérrez of Illinois
"With Congressman Gutiérrez's wisdom and energy on the Intelligence Committee, the American people know they have a trusted voice advocating for American values and security," Pelosi said.
Congressman Jim Himes of Connecticut
"Congressman Himes' service on the Intelligence Committee has been defined by thoughtfulness and professionalism. The strength of his experience will continue to be a valued resource in the new Congress," said Pelosi.
Congresswoman Terri Sewell of Alabama
"Throughout her time on the Intelligence Committee, Congresswoman Sewell has shown the leadership, tenacity and values needed to keep our country secure and our families safe," Leader Pelosi stated.
Congressman André Carson of Indiana

Congresswoman Jackie Speier of California
