Pelosi, Delegation Conclude Two-Day Visit to Afghanistan

Kabul, Afghanistan – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi led a Congressional Delegation to Afghanistan, where they met with Commander of NATO Resolute Support Mission and US Forces in Afghanistan General John Nicholson, Jr., and U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Peter Michael McKinley, as well as U.S., NATO, and Afghan servicememembers from various military bases around Afghanistan.

The delegation also met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and discussed the political and security situation in Afghanistan.

"It is an honor to meet with our servicemembers and diplomats in Afghanistan,” Leader Pelosi said. “We are grateful for their unwavering commitment to America's security and their determined dedication to the mission.”
