Kabul, Afghanistan â€" Speaker Nancy Pelosi led a Congressional Delegation to Afghanistan, where they met today with U.S. Forces at Camp Eggers in Kabul and were briefed by U.S. Ambassador William Wood, and U.S. and Allied military commanders.
The delegation will meet in Kabul with President Hamid Karzai to discuss the political and security situation in Afghanistan.
"We are grateful for the sacrifice and service of our brave men and women in Afghanistan, and for their commitment to America's security and their unwavering dedication to the mission," Pelosi said.
In addition to the Speaker, the following members of the delegation are: John Larson, Democratic Caucus Chair; George Miller, Chair of the Education and Labor Committee; Rosa DeLauro, Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture; Ed Markey, Chair of Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming; Anna Eshoo, Chair of the House Select Intelligence Subcommittee on Intelligence Community Management; Michael Capuano, Member of the House Financial Services Committee; and Bill Pascrell, Jr., Member of the House Homeland Security Committee.
