Jerusalem – A Congressional Delegation led by Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi held a series of key meetings with stakeholders today in Jerusalem to discuss critical issues of concern.
"Our delegation was honored to meet with a group of Palestinian youth today in Jerusalem," Leader Pelosi said. "This next generation of leaders is ready to lead and break down barriers to peace not only in their communities but in the region. We also met with a group of inspiring civic leaders – both Israelis and Palestinians – who value the bond of people to people relationships as they work toward enduring stability and prosperity for all."
Earlier today, the delegation met with Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman to discuss U.S. military assistance and security cooperation issues. The delegation also held a working lunch with leaders from the fields of academia, media and civil society to discuss challenges and opportunities facing Israel.
"In our three days of meetings in Jordan and Israel, we focused on national security, regional stability and the prospects for peace between Israelis and Palestinians," said Leader Pelosi.
